Suggested rules for life-saving, deferred and one-off payments.

Content of publication

The publication describes a government-approved bill on the repayment phase of universal pension funds. Considers three forms according to accumulated funds and rules for heirs.

Period and context

The material shall submit a legislative proposal as of January 2021. It is not an up-to-date guide for choosing a pension product or for transferring insurance.

The three proposed forms

  • Lifetime pension — where accumulated funds allow a monthly payment of at least 15% of the minimum old-age pension based on length of service.
  • Late payment: with insufficient funds for a lifelong pension, but over three minimum pensions.
  • Single payment: in case of funds under three minimum pensions.

Scope of the proposal

The bill includes rules for granting, paying, recalculating, updating and succession. The text discusses a guaranteed amount calculated in relation to gross translated contributions. The last sentence of the transitional period within the original period has been interrupted and has not been added. These were proposed in January 2021 rules.
